To become a Pharmacy Analyst in Phoenix, trainees must provide proof of citizenship, such as a United States birth certificate, United States Passport, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Card, Native American Tribal Record or proof of eligibility to work in the United States to the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy. In addition, proof of graduation from high school or equivalent, such as diploma or transcript showing graduation date, must be provided with a birth certificate and proof of residency. Trainees must be at least 18 years of age.
Trainees are required to complete a pharmacy expert training program through an accredited school. Some schools will offer classes that will allow trainees to graduate with an undergraduate or graduate degree, depending on the school program. The school training programs are outlined to assist trainees in becoming aware of responsibilities, state and federal regulations, and be prepared for taking the certification exam.

Arizona requires Pharmacy Analyst to become certified and licensed. Certification can be obtained from the Pharmacy Specialist Certification Board, which is recognized nationally in all 50 states. The Pharmacy Specialist Certification Board requires proof of high school graduation or equivalent, to be at least 18 years of age and complete a criminal background check.
Examinations are on 90 questions; 80 questions are scored while the remaining 10 are unscored and unidentified. The purpose of the 10 unscored questions is for evaluation for future exams. Results are received through the mail in 1 to 3 weeks.
Once certified, Pharmacy Analysts must complete 20 continued education credits every 2 years with their renewal. Continued education helps keep patients safe, demonstrates commitment, improves career advancements, maintains competency and improves skills.
Certified Pharmacy Experts can be disqualified for felony convictions, drug or pharmacy related violations or actions taken by Arizona registration and licensing. Disqualifications are based on a case by case basis.
